Polly’s take on the trend: Nashville hot chicken

By Polly Campbell for The Enquirer

“It seems pretty strange that two Nashville-style hot chicken restaurants opened in the last few months, both right off Buttermilk Pike, 495 feet apart, according to Google Maps. “We didn’t know they were signing a lease, they didn’t know we were,” said Tony Palombino, CEO of the company that owns Joella’s.”

Thanks to the Enquirer for providing their perspective on the hot chicken trend in Crescent Springs!

“There are more similarities than differences between the two restaurants. But Gold Star and Skyline are similar, and people have their favorites there, so I’m sure both will win their special fans. In general, Joella’s is more upscale, with more and better sides, more choices, fancier sodas.”
